SCHOOL SMARTS PARENT ENGAGEMENT ACADEMY
Research shows that family engagement is one of the strongest predictors of student success, regardless of income or background. Students whose parents/caregivers are involved in their education are more likely to earn higher grades, attend regularly, and graduate.
Available to school communities interested in promoting family engagement in their community, School Smarts provides customizable training curriculum designed to bring together parents from diverse backgrounds in support of a common interest: helping their children and schools succeed.
As the new term starts, Presidents and Treasurers should be on the lookout for a mailer from the Leadership Team at CAPTA. These mailers are full of useful information and resources specific to both positions and will help to make sure the new PTA year starts strong. If you have not received your copy by September please make sure your mailing address is correct in the FutureFund Connects Board Member Contact list or contact 16th District for assistance.

“What My Culture Means to Me!”
That’s the theme for the 2026-27 Reflections Art Program, which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. California State PTA and its members, families and kids are on the forefront of this amazing program, which increases community awareness of the importance of arts in education.
