16th DISTRICT BOARD

The most important role of the Executive Board of the Sixteenth District is to provide support to the PTA councils and individual PTA units within Lassen, Marin, Modoc, Plumas and Sierra counties.

We offer trainings and resources, and help to coordinate the work that councils and units do. We also share out information about any operational updates, send due dates reminders when things like PTA Insurance payments are due, and communicate deadlines for various grant opportunities. Basically, we at Sixteenth District are here to support your success.

We still have positions available on the 16th District board. If you are interested in filling these position, or volunteering with 16th District PTA, please contact Erin Compton for more information!

Our Philosophy

The mission of the California State PTA is to positively impact the lives of children and families by representing our members and empowering and supporting them with skills in advocacy, leadership and communications.
Our History

In 1897, 2 women came together to form the National Congress of Mothers to eliminate threats that endangered children. In 1970, they merged with the National Congress of Congress of Colored Parents and Teachers to become the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) to advocate for children and youth issues in our country.
