Join us for the 2024-25 Reflections Art Program, which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. California State PTA and its members, families and kids are on the forefront of this amazing program, which increases community awareness of the importance of arts in education.

Please note: The submission process below is for North Marin Council of PTAs. For Mill Valley Council and units that are out-of-council the submission process is TBD.
****If you are a PTA/PTSA within Mill Valley Council, please contact your council president for direction. If you are a PTA/PTSA that is not in council (Schools in Lassen, Plumas, Modoc or Sierra counties, or schools in San Rafael, Larkspur, Kentfield, etc.) please contact the 16th District PTA President.***


North Marin Council (NMC) deadline for submissions is
November 8, 2024


Participants must attend a Novato Unified School District school with a PTA in good standing. Works of art should be original and unique, and should not be part of a graded school assignment. Please review the official guidelines (linked below) before submitting!  

To submit their artwork for consideration, students must: 

1. Complete the Reflections Student Entry Form 

2. Email a copy of the Entry Form, their artwork (if possible), or photos of their artwork to nmcreflections@gmail.com.

3. Coordinate with NMC Reflections committee for pickup of any physical artworks. 

December 5: all submissions to NMC will be displayed and finalists will be announced at our Reflections Showcase at the Novato Unified School District Office. Details to be announced soon.

January 6, 2025: deadline for out of council PTAs to submit to 16th District.

Students attending PTA schools are invited to submit original artwork in these categories:

  • Dance Choreography

  • Literature

  • Photography

  • Film Production

  • Music Composition

  • Visual Arts

​

Students should enter in the appropriate age division:

​

  • TK - Grade 2

  • Grade 3 - Grade 5

  • Middle School

  • High School 

  • Accessible Arts Division - all grades welcome

Participation is Fun and Rewarding!

​

Students within North Marin Council and Mill Valley Council of PTAs will submit their artworks directly to their council for consideration. Out of Council PTAs can submit directly to 16th District. The finalists are then submitted to California State PTA and considered for Outstanding Interpretation, Awards of Excellence or Awards of Merit. Outstanding Interpretation and Award of Excellence entries then go on to represent California in the final National PTA judging round.

State-level Outstanding Interpretation honorees receive:

  • Onstage recognition at the California State PTA Annual Convention

  • The opportunity to showcase their artwork at the California State PTA Convention Reflections Gallery

  • Prizes including an Outstanding Interpretation plaque, award and certificate


State-level Award of Excellence honorees receive:

  • The opportunity to showcase their artwork at the California State PTA Convention Reflections Gallery

  • Prizes including an Award of Excellence medallion, award and certificate


State-level Award of Merit honorees receive:

  • The opportunity to showcase their artwork at the California State PTA Convention Reflections Gallery

  • Prizes including an Award of Merit medallion and certificate


National-level Outstanding Interpretation honorees are recognized at the National PTA Convention, plus their artwork, along with any National Award of Excellence and Merit winners, are featured in Reflections’ popular traveling national exhibit.
